TSR 11/24/19 CBB Picks

Game 1: Miami FL vs UCONN (1:00, ESPN2

Nick: UCONN

Sam: UCONN-- I loved the grit Danny Hurleys bunch showed in the double overtime loss to Xavier. A win against the Canes would give the Huskies a great showing in Charleston, showing that this program is absolutely on the rise.

Zach: UCONN

Game 2: Rhode Island vs LSU (2:30, CBSSN)
Nick: Rhode Island--This Rams team is looking like an NCAA Tournament team during the early part of this season. Here they will earn another notch in their belt, riding the back of Fatts Russell, the best name in college hoops.

Sam: LSU-- The Tigers have been extremely sloppy to start the year, but I think they’ll be able to get past the Rams in a close one.

Zach:LSU- Bounce back win after the choke against Utah State. If Skylar Mays can play like he did, they will be in every ballgame this year.

Game 3: Missouri State vs Buffalo (3:30, ESPNU)
Nick: Buffalo

Sam: Missouri State

Zach: Buffalo

Game 4: Villanova vs Baylor (5:00, ESPN)
Nick: Baylor--Led by Jared Butler and MaCio Teague, this Bears’ team is going to be a threat in the Big 12 title race. Matchups like these are the reason that we love the Thanksgiving tournaments in college basketball, giving us fantastic matchups on neutral courts.

Sam: Villanova-- This one really has the feel of a Sweet 16 game. Jermaine Samuels has, much like it seems every Wildcat athletic player does in his junior season, taken a huge step forward. I think Samuels is the difference.

Zach: Villanova- Jeremiah Robinson-Earl averaging almost a double-double will need to go for over his average, and the Cats need to slow down Jared Butler (18.8 ppg), they do both and win a close one

Game 5: Valpo vs Nevada (5:30)
Nick: Nevada

Sam: Nevada

Zach: Nevada

Game 6: Cincinnati vs Bowling Green (7:30)
Nick: Cincinnati--Always think that it’s humorous when teams travel the world and end up playing teams from their own state. These two traveled all the way to the US Virgin Islands so they could play, while they are just 180 miles apart in the great state of Ohio. This should be a great matchup, as Justin Turner is one of the more underrated players in the country for Bowling Green, and the Falcons will be in the MAC title race. In the end, Jarron Cumberland has a better supporting cast, and that will give UC the win.

Sam: Cincinnati

Zach: Cincinnati- There is not a single thing I like about BG

Game 7: Florida vs Xavier (8:30, ESPN)
Nick: Xavier

Sam: Florida-- Tyriq Jones vs Kerry Blackshear will be a tremendous battle to watch in the post all night long. But I think the versatility of Blackshear will really show, and he will lead his team to victory in the Charleston classic like he did last year while playing at Virginia Tech.

Zach: Florida- like most games the Gators will have this year, everything will depend on the play of Kerry Blackshear.

Game 8: TCU vs Clemson (10:30, ESPN2)
Nick: TCU

Sam: TCU

Zach: TCU

Game 9: Virginia vs Arizona State
Nick: Virginia

Sam: Virginia

Zach: Virginia

Game 10: Cal St Northridge vs Colgate (5:00)
Nick: Colgate

Sam: Colgate

Zach: Colgate

Upset Pick (not in games above):
Nick: Air Force over Indiana State

Sam: UMASS over St John’s

Zach: Detroit over UC Irvine- Antoine Davis and the Titans are bound to get a win, and today will be the day
