TSR 1/29/20 CBB Picks

TODAY’S GAMES

1. Michigan State vs Northwestern (6:30, BTN)

Nick: Michigan State--Michigan State gets this victory on their quest to win the Big Ten once again. It will be the perfect opportunity for Cassius Winston to get those points and assists up on his quest for the 2000/1000 club. It would be great for this game to get out of hand, so guys like Foster Loyer, Thomas Kithier and Julius Marble get some quality playing time.

Sam: Michigan State--If the Spartans lose this game, Izzo might make them sleep at Breslin.

Zach: Michigan State- If the Spartans lose this game, they need to quit the rest of the season. This Northwestern team is so bad and Michigan State is too good to lose a game like this at home. With that being said, it will probably be a close game, because, well, that’s just how it is with Michigan State

2. Seton Hall vs DePaul (6:30, FS1)

Nick: Seton Hall--The Pirates' undefeated run in the Big East continues in this game, rather handily. This win continues to look better and better for Michigan State as Kevin Willard's bunch builds their resume.

Sam: Seton Hall- The DePaul slide continues...

Zach: Seton Hall- Wow have the tides turned on the Blue Demons. For a team that was one of the last undefeateds, they have won one game in January, and against the team I thought they were least likely to beat. Seton Hall is gonna wipe the floor with DePaul at home

3. Duquesne vs Dayton (7:00, CBSSN)

Nick: Dayton--Obi Toppin and the Flyers continue their successful season, making a push for the A10 title and perhaps a top-two seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Sam: Dayton--Duquesne could make this a game, but I'll take Obi and the Flyers

Zach: Dayton- This will be a close game. Dayton is number seven in the country and Duquesne is a nasty team, coming off of a two-game losing streak, they’re gonna be ready to go in this one

4. Texas Tech vs West Virginia (8:00, ESPN+)

Nick: Texas Tech--Red Raiders are still a fantastic team, despite not living up to last season's standards. This is the resume win that they need to have to lock down an NCAA bid.

Sam: Texas Tech--Raiders let a golden opportunity slip Saturday against Kentucky. They won't do it again.

Zach: West Virginia- why is this game on ESPN+? That’s right, the Pistons are on ESPN. It’s about time...

5. Penn State vs Indiana (8:30, BTN)

Nick: Indiana--This is crazy that this is a premier matchup in the Big Ten this season. Indiana is playing great basketball lately, although they fell a basket short to Maryland this Sunday. The athletic play of Trace Jackson-Davis and Justin Smith are the X-Factor for Indiana.

Sam: Penn State--The Nittany Lions are inching closer and closer to should I say it?...TOURNAMENT LOCK.

Zach: Penn State- What a great matchup! Indiana, coming off a heartbreaker at home to Maryland and Penn State, another surprise team in the B1G ranked at 24. I like the home team.

6. Iowa State vs Baylor (9:00, ESPNU)

Nick: Baylor--Hilton Magic has lost its luster. The Bears are for real.

Sam: Baylor

Zach: Baylor- I don’t like many teams playing at Hilton, but this Cyclones team is struggling hard this season. They’re gonna get someone at home this year, but I don’t know if it’ll happen tonight

7. Xavier vs Marquette (8:30, FS1)

Nick: Marquette--The tremendous play of Sacar Anim the last few weeks has shown that Marquette has other weapons than Markus Howard. If he can channel his play, this team could reach heights Wojo has never seen...the second round of the NCAA Tournament!

Sam: Marquette--Xavier needs a win in the worst of ways, but they won't get it against Markus Howard and company.

Zach: Marquette- Markus Howard scored 35 last time these two teams met, and I expect no different this time around

8. New Mexico vs San Diego State (9:00, CBSSN)

Nick: San Diego State--The Aztecs remain unbeaten. 22-0 here we come, after a win at the Pit.

Sam: San Diego State

Zach: San Diego State- Will JaQuan Lyle have something to say about the lone undefeated in college basketball? I’m sure, but it won’t matter

9. Kansas State vs Oklahoma (8:00, ESPN+)

Nick: K State--The Wildcats don't utilize Levi Stockard enough...only 17.6 minutes per game?! All inside jokes aside, K State gets a HUGE victory (relative to their resume) in the Octagon of Doom.

Sam: Oklahoma

Zach: Kansas State

10. LSU vs Alabama (7:00, ESPN2)

Nick: LSU--The home team gets a solid victory over Nate Oats' bunch.

Sam: Alabama--The Tide have really started to play well lately

Zach: LSU
