MKE Basketball: DeAndre Gholston Commits to Milwaukee
Coach Pat Baldwin and the Milwaukee Panthers continue to round out their roster for the 2019-20 season, as they received another commitment this afternoon. DeAndre Gholston, a 6-5/210 guard from Gary, Indiana announced on Twitter that he will be continuing his career in the Horizon League.

Gholston played this past season at Tallahassee Community College, where he averaged 11.3 points per game. He was an effective shooter, finishing the season with a 50.4% mark from the field, and an even more impressive 44.1% three-point percentage. In addition to scoring, Gholston recorded 5.2 rebounds per game and 1.5 assists per contest for the Eagles. This performance earned Gholston second-team All-Panhandle honors.
Prior to his one season in Tallahassee, Gholston played at Kent State in 2018-19. He averaged 1.3 points and 0.8 rebounds in 15 games for the Golden Flashes. Gholston will have two years of eligibility, starting this season in Milwaukee. He will be expected to compete with Josh Thomas and Arturro Bingham for time at the shooting guard position.
This commitment puts the Panthers at 11 scholarships for the 2019-20 season. They have two scholarships left, with a plethora of targets out there. One target to keep an eye on will be Gholston's teammate at TCC, Rifen Miguel, who has stated that he will announce his decision on Wednesday.
