MSU Basketball: Max Christie Adds to Phenomenal 2021 Class

Michigan State basketball fans were truly hurting after the NCAA Tournament was cancelled back in March, as the Spartans were a legitimate National Title contender in Cassius Winston's final season.

Since the offseason began however, things could not have gone better for Michigan State. Today, Max Christie became the third elite prospect to commit to the Spartans, joining Pierre Brooks II and Emoni Bates. If Bates reclassifies, like many believe he will, this trio will make a possibly historic class for Tom Izzo and his team.

Christie is a 6-6/165 guard from Rolling Meadows, Illinois. A 2021 shooting guard, he is ranked as a five-star recruit by 247Sports. According to the 247Composite rankings, he is the #1 shooting guard in the country for the 2021 class, the #1 player from Illinois in that class, and he is ranked as the #13 player nationally. Christie selected the Spartans over other national powers, most notably Duke.
