MKE Basketball: Devon Hancock Commits to Milwaukee

**4/17/20 12:00PM EST Correction: Previously this article stated that UWM had a full roster. Arturro Bingham has since entered the portal, leaving UWM with one scholarship**

Just after Milwaukee received a commitment from Tafari Simms this afternoon, Coach Pat Baldwin and the Panthers can get excited about another member of the 2020-21 class.

Devon Hancock has announced on his Twitter page that he will be joining the UWM basketball team for the upcoming year.

Hancock is a 6-3/188 shooting guard out of Mesquite, Texas (Horn High School). He chose Milwaukee over Denver, Jackson State, Jacksonville, New Hampshire, NC A&T and Troy.

Hancock is the sixth incoming player for the 2020-21 season. He is joined by fellow incoming freshmen Donovan Newby (PG), Kaleim Taylor (PG) and Grant Coleman (PF). Also in this year's recruiting class were JUCO transfers DeAndre Gholston (SG) and Tafari Simms (SF). Milwaukee's coaching staff now has one more scholarship left to fill, with the recent departure of Arturro Bingham opening another scholarship.

In terms of guard depth, he will provide some youth to the shooting guard position, as he is joined by junior DeAndre Gholston and senior Josh Thomas.

In this Twitter video posted by Hancock below, he shows off his ability to shoot the basketball from deep, as well as a very explosive vertical game. He should be a great value to this class and the program as his career progresses in Milwaukee.
