MSU Football: Michigan State Lands Pair of Recruits in 2021 Class

The Michigan State Football recruiting class has continued to grow, with a pair of commits announcing that they will be in the 2021 class over the past 24 hours.

On Thursday night, Michael Gravely Jr. joined the 2021 Class per his Twitter page.

Gravely is a 6-1/193 safety from Glenville High School outside of Cleveland. According to 247Composite, he is the 39th ranked player in the State of Ohio, the 74th ranked safety nationally and the 962nd ranked player overall. These rankings have earned him a three-star distinction.

The highlight reel below shows some impressive athleticism in Gravely, who joins a defensive backfield in the 2021 class that includes Gabe "Spida" Nealy, Antoine Booth and Charles Brantley.

On Friday morning, the Spartans landed another commit, their first in the 2021 class that comes from outside of the United States.

Mark Vassett, a 6-4/210 punter from Melbourne, Australia became the 12th member of the class, and the first member of the special teams unit coached by Ross Els.

Vassett becomes the third punter from Australia to join the Spartans in the past few seasons, joining Jack Bouwmeester and current punting candidate Mitchell Crawford, who is a graduate transfer from UTEP.

According to Matt Wenzel, Vassett will aim to early enroll in 2021 with hopes that he can earn the punting position for the 2021 year. This will also allow Vassett to adjust to the United States for a semester before the season starts.
